About Maggie
Professional Yoga Instruction
I first learned of yoga in the early 70’s whilst working as a student nurse in London. I came across a book in a health food shop that piqued my interest; Yoga for Health by Richard Hittleman.
The first live classes I attended didn’t take place until later in the 70’s when I returned to Scotland. I have fond memories of these first classes in a local community centre. Over the following years my attendance and practice of yoga was sporadic. It wasn’t until the mid-90’s when I encountered health problems, that I turned to yoga practice regularly and in 2000 I embarked on my first yoga teacher training course.
Yoga has been my anchor through life’s ups and downs ever since…
Now, with over 20 years teaching experience, my mission is to offer a yoga practice that is accessible, builds resilience, is enjoyable and re-connects you with your own “inner teacher”. Through heart centred, mindful yoga movement and connection with your breath the mind quietens. Each class invites you on an inner journey of discovery, building awareness, resilience and self-understanding.
I have both undertaken both 200 hour and additional 500 hrs Yoga Teacher Training Courses and for over 10 years have studied Pranayama & Meditation with Dr Shrikrishna Bhushan Tengshe
Continued education includes courses of study in Yoga for Pregnancy, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga Yoga Nidra, Trauma Informed Yoga and is a Heart meditation Facilitator. I am currently a Yoga Minister in training.
My yoga offerings are available in-person at my Garden Studiobased in Falkland Estate, Falkland, Fife, Scotland and online.
